Tips for choosing the right workbooth
As a manufacturer-independent provider, we offer a well-curated selection of workboxes - which can make the decision difficult. So if you are looking for the perfect workbox for your company, the following steps will certainly help you to find the right model and compare different providers:
Work booths: quality levels and sound insulation classes
Since 2020, ISO 23351-1 has categorised work booths and soundproof booths in general into sound insulation classes. A comparison of different decibel values for sound insulation only makes sense if they have been determined using the ISO standardised method:
- Class A+: over 33 decibels (no products on the market to date)
- Class A: 30 - 33 decibels (premium insulation)
- Class B: 25 - 30 decibels (standard insulation)
- Class C: 20-25 decibels (simple insulation)
Caution is advised when comparatively inexpensive suppliers advertise values above 35 or even 40 dB. By way of comparison, the majority of work boxes on the market - including our range - have sound insulation values of class A or class B and therefore less than 33 dB. Even the relatively well-known Finnish premium manufacturer "framery" "only" advertises its acoustic boxes as class A.

Work booths: Interior fittings
As the name suggests, work boxes are mainly used for concentrated individual work (including video calls and telephone calls). Most manufacturers have therefore provided suitable interior fittings for their workbox models. The following variants can be distinguished:
- Table at seat height, combined with swivel chair or sofa
- Electrically height-adjustable table (change between standing and sitting) in combination with a swivel chair
- Table at standing height, combined with one or even two stools (can then also be used by two people next to each other)
- Without interior supplied - individual equipment required
In our experience, the most frequently chosen interior design variant is the seat-height table.
Design
Once you are clear about the "hard facts" such as the required interior fittings and desired sound insulation, you can turn your attention to the softer factors: Appearance, colour, shape, nice gimmicks - different manufacturers score points here with different ideas, features and designs.

Work booths - concentrated work without noise
Now that telephone boxes and meeting boxes have already established themselves in many offices, the "work box" type has recently become increasingly important. The need for individual retreats for concentrated work is making more and more companies realise that phone boxes alone are no longer enough. Work boxes are somewhat more spacious and are usually equipped with an ergonomic swivel chair and table - making them much more suitable for longer video calls or tasks that require quiet and concentration. The slightly higher costs of work boxes compared to telephone boxes are quickly amortised by efficiency gains.
The selection of workboxes has expanded significantly in recent times and there are now numerous attractively priced models such as the workboxes from MUTE (Model Jetson M1) or from Silen (Model Chatbox Solo).
